Online Teaching and Learning Environment (OTLE)
OTLE is a password-protected online learning management system where Te Kura students can interact with each other and with their teachers in a secure online environment.
Your username to access the OTLE is your student ID number. When you log in for the first time, you'll be asked to set a new password.
If you have difficulties logging in to download the software, please email the Student and Whānau Service Hub at firstname.lastname@example.org or telephone 0800 65 99 88 extension 8712 between 8am and 5pm Monday to Friday.
Please note our OTLE works best when used with the latest versions of the Google Chrome, Firefox or Safari web browsers.
Resources for students with Te Kura-issued laptops
If you have received a laptop computer as part of our programme to assist eligible students enrolled in our new online courses at years 9 and 10, use the links below to configure the anti-virus software and download Microsoft Office 365. Click on Login to OTLE above to login to OTLE, or click here.
To protect you and everyone you interact with Te Kura has installed AVG anti-virus software on the laptop. You will need to configure the software to run scans on your laptop.
Go to http://features.en.softonic.com/how-to-set-up-avg-antivirus-2015-for-optimal-protection and follow the instructions.
Read about our guide to configuring and updating your anti-virus software for more details.
Microsoft Office 365
Te Kura has partnered with Microsoft to give Office 365 to every student free of charge, so you can create a range of documents using Microsoft Word, for writing; Excel, for spreadsheets; PowerPoint, for presentations; OneNote, for organisation and note taking; and much more.
To enable our students to take up this offer, we have allocated every student a ‘My Te Kura’ email address which you must use to sign in and download the software or access it through the Cloud. The format for this email address is your email@example.com and the password is your student ID number.
You'll find detailed information on how to download the software here
If you have difficulties logging in, email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
. Remember, you must be a current Te Kura student to download this software and will only retain the right to use it while enrolled with Te Kura.
We have also created an introductory course within OTLE called OTLE Hub. The course is made up of 10 modules designed to prepare you for studying online with Te Kura. Students will learn about the history of Te Kura (you'll be quizzed on that later so you can see how the online quizzes work), digital citizenship, OTLE tools and other online tools which will be used in our online courses. You'll find it in your list of courses in OTLE.
