Support for supervisors

Your role as a supervisor is to support your student in developing their skills and knowledge to become an independent learner.

You can help them achieve this by providing a learning environment for your student, which meets their physical needs such as a clear space to do their work, good light and suitable stationary supplies.

More importantly, you can let others in the house know that there is valuable learning going on; encourage them to keep distractions to a minimum and to be respectful of your student’s learning space.

Our learning advisors and teachers will involve you in your student’s learning and will answer any questions you might have about supporting your student.

Adele Harris is our Supervisor Support Advisor and is available by telephone and email to offer advice to supervisors of all fulltime students. You may wish to contact Adele for:

  • advice on establishing routines
  • suggestions on motivating your student
  • timetable ideas
  • supervisor strategies and tips
  • a listening ear.

Adele also manages enquiries about the Certificate in Teacher Aiding.

You can contact Adele on 0800 65 99 88 ext 8244 from Monday to Friday or by email.
