Welcome to the 2020 Huinga Ako!
Huinga Ako are the space where you have an opportunity to work with a small group of students and your Kaimanaaki (Learning Advisor) on skills and strategies for success and support for planning for the future.
It’s a collaborative and fun space where once a week you get to connect with your peers and get help with your studies.
This year you are encouraged to attend weekly Huinga Ako. Students have told us that attending Huinga Ako makes a big difference to their learning and experience at Te Kura.
The Huinga Ako are an opportunity to learn about:
- How Te Kura works.
- How your Kaimanaaki can help you to get organized.
- Good study habits and setting goals.
- What it means to be a good supervisor.
- NCEA qualifications.
- My Te Kura – the online learning environment.
- Authentic Learning opportunities including Star, Gateway and Trades Academy courses.
- Career possibilities.
If you would like to meet your Kaimanaaki at the Huinga Ako, please remember to phone or email beforehand to let them know you are attending.
We are all really looking forward to seeing you and your whanau.
