A message for our Te Kura ākonga (students) and their whānau (families)
He waka eke noa – we are all in this together
With the move to COVID-19 Alert Level 4 from Thursday 26 March, we are implementing with urgency our plan to support your learning from home.
The wellbeing of our ākonga (students) and their whānau (families) is our number one priority. We appreciate this is a sudden and significant change and will be heavily disruptive to many people in our community. Please be assured that we are here to support you.
While Te Kura offices are closed, our kaimahi (staff) will be working from home.
Unfortunately home visits, face-to-face huinga ako (advisories) and other community events have been suspended indefinitely.
The school holidays have been brought forward and will now begin from Monday 30 March to Tuesday 14 April inclusive.
We will be supporting our ākonga (students) and their whānau (families) in the following ways:
- Your learning programme will be available through My Te Kura, our online learning environment
- Kaiako (teachers) will be available online and by phone during the school term
- Huinga ako (advisories) will be moved online where possible
- The Student and Whānau Support team will be available to support you with general queries and technical issues: hub@tekura.school.nz
As noted by the Prime Minister these restrictions are our best chance to slow the virus in New Zealand and to save lives. We all have a clear role here to slow the spread of COVID-19.
Thank you for your ongoing support of our kaimahi (staff) and school community. We ask our ākonga (students) and their whānau (families) to please keep an eye on your emails and on the My Te Kura activity feed.
Let’s all be patient and kind to each other while we get used to a new way of operating.
