Learning support
How it works
Learning support is any additional support required by students to engage with and enjoy their learning.
This includes a wide range of supports, for example it might be specialised education support for literacy, or speech language therapy, occupational therapy, or specialist equipment.
The duration, intensity and type of learning support is considered in relation to each student. Some learning support will require additional funding while other support can be provided as part of Te Kura’s personalised learning programmes.
Studyit
Students can also access extra NCEA help from teachers in Mathematics, English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology at Studyit.
NCEA assessments
For NCEA assessments, there is also support for students who have a physical, medical, sensory, learning disability or psychological challenge. Find out more about special assessment conditions.
