NCEA financial assistance
You must pay your NCEA fee to have your NCEA credits included on your Record of Achievement and count toward your qualification. This includes all levels of NCEA, University Entrance and other national certificates.
Financial assistance is available to help with the payment of entry fees for NCEA. The annual NCEA fee is $76.70 per student unless you’re eligible for financial assistance.
NCEA payments are accepted for the current year of study between June and November.
Who can get it?
Financial assistance is based on household income or the number of students who are NCEA candidates.
You can get financial assistance if you meet at least one of the following criteria. If you:
- get a benefit from Work and Income or StudyLink
- have a Community Services Card
- have a joint family income that would allow you to get a Community Services Card
- have two or more children enrolled in NCEA with fees totalling more than $200 (not income based).
International fee paying students cannot apply for financial assistance.
