Be a Dual Provider with us
Supporting your ākonga together.
Dual tuition is used to extend or adapt the curriculum capability available for ākonga who are enrolled with a Dual Provider school or organisation.
A Dual Provider can be a:
- Primary or Secondary School
- Alternative Education Centre
- Activity Centre
- Teen Parent Unit
- Health School or Ara Poutama Aotearoa / Department of Corrections facility
Dual tuition can either be funded by the government or fee-paying, depending on the situation and eligibility of each ākonga. The Ministry of Education sets the eligibility criteria for government-funded dual tuition.
Getting started as a Dual Provider
Learning with Te Kura
Your regional Kairuruku Hononga will work closely with you to support your ākonga to achieve their learning goals at Te Kura.
Most Te Kura courses are delivered through My Te Kura, our online learning platform, and supplemented by online education providers. We may provide names, identification numbers, and email addresses of ākonga to these education providers to facilitate access – see our Terms and Conditions for more information.
Ākonga will require a laptop and internet connection to access their Te Kura courses.
