Whether you're new to Te Kura or returning, this is where you'll find out who can enrol, how to apply, what it might cost, and what to expect throughout the process.

There are lots of ways to enrol with Te Kura, but don't worry, you won't have to figure it all out on your own.

Our enrolment criteria – are you eligible?
You can enrol at Te Kura if:
- You are a domestic student who is living in New Zealand, unless specified in our enrolment policy.
- You can't attend a face-to-face school, e.g. you live far away, you have been referred to us for engagement or wellbeing needs, or if you meet the criteria in our enrolment policy.
- You are a young adult over the age of 16 or an adult who wants to keep learning.
- Your main school wants you to study some subjects through Te Kura.
- You meet the criteria for our Te Ara Kōhungahunga | Early Childhood programme.
Most enrolments with us are free. If you live overseas or don't meet certain criteria, you might have to pay fees.
To find out whether you or your tamariki are eligible to study at Te Kura, you can check the Ministry of Education's enrolment policy or talk to one of our advisors in the Student and Whānau Support team.

Our enrolment gateways
There are lots of different ways to join our kura. For some of our gateways, you will need to provide supporting documents such as a letter from a government agency or national sports body, or an itinerary for travel. Applications for other gateways can be completed directly through our website, with proof of ID and other details.

| Dual | For ākonga enrolled at their main school or kura who are also learning one or more subjects through Te Kura |
A Dual Provider Partnership Agreement will be set up between Te Kura and your school. |

Fee-paying (per subject) | For ākonga (including home-educated or private school students) who want to study one or more specific subjects |

| Summer School | For eligible ākonga who need up to 12 NCEA credits to move on to further study, training, or employment |
